PM Modi Launches ₹7,300-Crore Projects in Churachandpur.

CHURACHANDPUR — In a significant address today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid foundation stones for development projects totaling over ₹7,300 crore in Manipur, urging all groups to “embark on the path of peace.” Speaking to a large crowd in Churachandpur, Modi praised the state as the “land of courage and determination.”

The comprehensive development package covers a wide array of sectors, including infrastructure, technology, education, and healthcare.

Key Projects and Initiatives

A major focus of the announcement is urban infrastructure, with the Manipur Urban Roads, Drainage and Asset Management project receiving a substantial investment of ₹3,647 crore. This initiative is aimed at modernizing urban areas and improving living conditions.

The state's technological future is set to get a boost with the Manipur Infotech Development (MIND) project, a ₹550-crore initiative designed to enhance the IT sector.

Education and women's welfare are also high on the agenda. The government is investing ₹134 crore to upgrade 120 schools across 16 districts, while nine new working women's hostels are being constructed at a cost of ₹142 crore.

Healthcare facilities will see significant improvement with the announcement of super-speciality healthcare facilities worth ₹105 crore. Additionally, ₹30 crore has been allocated for infrastructure improvements at the iconic Polo Ground in Imphal.

Other notable projects include:

₹102 crore for rural connectivity, education, and tourism.

A ₹36-crore multipurpose indoor stadium at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.

Upgradation of NH-102A in Tengnoupal district at a cost of ₹502 crore.

The Prime Minister's visit and the launch of these extensive projects underscore the central government's commitment to the development and stability of Manipur.
